Avid Media Composer Editing 

I have a comprehensive training plan for users of Avid Media Composer; the industry leader in broadcast and film editing software. This training is applicable to users new to Avid who need to learn the basics all the way to those with many years experience that want to learn the more advanced techniques.

Examples of basic topics;

• Avid media and project structure
• Capturing/importing/linking to media
• Customizing keyboard settings and workspaces
• 3 point editing
• Refining edits
• Trimming
• Working with audio
• Effects Editing

Prior to coming in for training I survey the staff to determine their skill level and find out what areas they want to work on. Once training is complete I provide a follow up report to supervisors about areas that were covered and the strengths and weakness of the trainees.

I have been editing on the Avid platform since 1998 and have used nearly every Avid product from Media Composer to Symphony on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Productions include the 2010 Vancouver Olympics for a host broadcaster and an 18-episode reality network broadcast series. I have edited 1000’s of commercials, corporate videos, short films, documentaries and specialty videos.

My expertise was gained not only through the practical use of editing on Avid nearly every day but also through special training I received at training centers and events like Video Symphony in Burbank, California and the NAB Post Plus conference in New York, New York. I also spent time as a substitute instructor at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba, in the Media Production Department.

Post-Production Supervising

Our team has worked in the post-production department for several TV series and documentary productions and can provide post-production supervising on a short term or long term basis in accordance with the needs of the project.  

Camera Operation

With 20+ years experience in videography we can provide training on a multitude of camera types like an ENG style camera (XDCAM HD) to a cinema style camera (Sony FS7) with multiple lenses.

Packages

Family, Couples and Headshots

$350 rate for the shoot plus editing of 10 images included at no extra cost. After the shoot you select your favorite digital images from an on-line gallery which will be re-touched and delivered.

Additional images are $10/each.
50% deposit required at the time of booking to hold the date.

Weddings

We work with the excellent wedding photography company Stardust Photography and recommend that you contact them for wedding packages.
